In 2017 the Citrus Academy initiated the development of the Citrus Short Course, based on a citrus production course that was developed by Villa Academy. The Citrus Short Course is aimed at those who are already involved in citrus production, and those who are qualified in production management and looking to get involved in citrus production. It has been designed to provide these learners with the opportunity to obtain a high-level understanding of all aspects of citrus production in a short period of time.
The programme will be rolled out in the form of three-day workshops, held in citrus growing regions. The first two days will take the form of classroom learning, with the third day set aside for a field visit.
The Citrus Short Course consists of the following modules:
